Christos Sideras is a PhD candidate in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Patras. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the university’s Department of Biology, where he first joined his current research group to complete his undergraduate thesis. He subsequently obtained an MSc in Drug Discovery and Development from the Department of Pharmacy, continuing his specialized training within the same laboratory environment. Currently, his doctoral research focuses on deciphering the fundamental principles of the ADP-ribosylation signaling pathway. His work involves examining the structural dynamics and interactions of both viral and human protein domains to better understand these complex biological processes. Christos’s technical expertise includes molecular biology, protein expression, and isolation, alongside the characterization of protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. He is particularly driven to identify novel ligands capable of modulating these pathways, with the aim of establishing a foundation for the development of new therapeutic agents. By integrating his biological background with structural insights, he seeks to provide clear molecular evidence for how these pathways can be targeted in drug discovery.
