Dr. Christina Papaemmanouil is a PostDoc Researcher at the BioNMR Group at the Department of Pharmacy in University of Patras, Greece. She got her bachelor’s in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry of the University of Ioannina. She also completed her Master’s degree in the Metabolomics study of the lipid fraction of milk through the development of methods based on NMR Spectroscopy. She also got her PhD from the Department of Chemistry of the University of Ioannina. Her PhD expertise is on the analysis of the phytochemical profile of medicinal plants and natural products through methods based on UV-Vis and NMR Spectroscopy, as well as the study of their biological properties on enzymes related to inflammation and early skin-aging. She is also an expert in the characterization of the molecular structure of small molecules, which are present in pure and crude extracts (plant or food matrix), as well as their quantitative determination through NMR Spectroscopy (1H, 1D TOCSY, 2D TOCSY, 1H-13C HSQC, 1H-13C HMBC, DOSY). Her scientific experience also includes the study of the interaction profile between various ligands and proteins through methods based on UV-Vis and NMR Spectroscopy. She is also experienced in the in situ study of enzyme reactions through spectroscopic methods, as well as in developing and performing protocols for the production of medicinal plant extracts.
