Dr. Katerina (Aikaterini) Argyriou, PhD is Research Scientist at the BioNMR Group at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Patras, Greece. She graduated from the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Patras in 2009 and she joined Professor’s Spyroulias Lab in September 2009. In her Master’s and doctoral dissertations, she worked with a variety of different proteins (membrane receptors, RNA binding proteins, Zn-proteins, etc.) with great biological role and different biophysical techniques. Dr. Argyriou is proficient in large scale production, purification/isolation (size-distribution analysis by analytical ultracentrifugation, column chromatography, HPLC/FPLC etc.) and characterization (through UV-visible, CD & NMR spectroscopy) of polypeptides. She also has expertise in NMR labeling techniques such as selective amino acid labeling, specific protonation of methyl-groups and segmental labeling.
